For example, if the motor is overloaded, it will cause the temperature rise to be too high and burn out; if the ambient temperature is too high, the insulation will be damp and the insulation resistance will decrease, the leakage current will increase, and even the breakdown will occur; if the ambient temperature is too low, the brush noise and commutation of the DC motor will be caused. The spark is increased; if the grid voltage is too low, the motor is blocked or overheated and burned; the surge during the fast switching action causes the insulation to break down; and the multiple consecutive starts cause the synchronous motor damper winding to be welded or broken.

Faults caused by the operating environment:

(1) High temperature: overheating, insulation aging;

(2) low temperature: frost;

(3) Harmful gases: structural parts, insulation corrosion, oxide film abnormalities;

(4) High humidity: insulation moisture absorption, breakdown;

(5) Low humidity: brush noise and oxide film are not easy to establish;

(6) Altitude > 1000m: Allowable temperature rise is reduced, and commutation is difficult;

(7) Pollution conditions such as dust and oil mist: insulation resistance is reduced, and brush wear is increased;

The operating conditions have different effects and results on various types of motors. The operating principles and characteristics of different types of motors are different, and the faulty parts are different.

Faulty parts that are easily generated by different types of motors:

Faulty parts that are easy to be generated by three-phase asynchronous motors: rotor eccentricity, rotor inter-turn short circuit, open welding, winding overheating;

Cage-type asynchronous motors are prone to faults: rotor eccentricity, broken bars, winding overheating;

Medium and small DC motors are prone to faults: the rotor structural components are loose, torsional vibration phenomenon, the damper windings are overheated due to out-of-step, and the single-phase overheating of the windings is caused by the stalling;
