HC Plastics News: BASF has developed a new EPS (expandable polystyrene plastic manufacturing grade) foam package with a 4.8% pentane content to reduce molding cycle and conditioning time. The new grade EPS P 24 speed has a density of 25 grams per liter, resulting in a maximum molding cycle time of up to 50% EPS P 326 compared to the average forming steam pressure.

The new EPS is approved for food packaging and has high mechanical strength and excellent flexural strength, similar to the classic EPS P 26. The new material has good melt properties and surface finish. The speed of EPS P 24 is similar to that of all styrofoam packaging. No flame retardant is especially suitable for the manufacture of thin-walled products and food packaging and cooling boxes. The material can range from 0.4 mm to 1.3 mm in three sizes. The launch of new products BASF's earnings per share also turned to the packaging industry.

BASF has a strong portfolio of products and services in the four major industries of transportation, construction, industrial applications and consumer products, with a deep understanding of application system solutions. BASF's portfolio is divided into five segments: chemicals, performance products, functional materials and solutions, agricultural solutions and oil and gas. Working closely with customers, a clear solution is a key factor in their profitability and growth. The company uses its strong R&D capabilities to develop innovative products and applications.
