【Abstract】With the application of seismic damping technology in high-rise and super-tall buildings, the welding technology of extremely low yield strength steel for energy consuming devices has received increasing attention from the industry. After reasonable selection of welding methods, welding materials and welding parameters, the welding production of extremely low yield point steel seismic energy dampers has been completed, which has been successfully applied in engineering practice, providing a reference for the future production of very low yield point steel. .

1 Overview

About one million earthquakes occur every year on the earth. China is also a country with frequent earthquakes. Since the 20th century, there have been more than 800 earthquakes of magnitude 6 or above, causing huge casualties and property losses. The earthquake disaster has caused people to pay attention to the earthquake resistance of buildings, and the seismic design of building structures has received increasing attention. Although the extremely low yield point steel energy dampers are used more and more widely in building structures, the process technology for making welded low yield steel energy dampers has rarely been reported.

Since 1980, China's academician Wang Guangyuan has proposed the construction of high-rise wind-induced earthquake control. Many scholars have invested in the research and development of extremely low yield point steel dampers. In 2004, Li Yushun and others from Harbin Institute of Technology proposed a very low yield point mild steel damper and conducted an outdoor simulation test. However, there are not many applications in China.

Henan Tianfeng Group's 12# residential building was designed by Beijing Cybers Architectural Design and Research Institute. It was built by our company. The seismic energy consumption is very low. The yield point steel damper is designed by the design. The structure is shown in Figure 1. The apartment is 11 stories high and has 44 energy dampers in the middle.

2. Performance of very low yield point steel

The extremely low yield point steel used to make the anti-seismic device is the “earthquake master” in steel products. The steel components processed by it are used in construction and can resist the attack of seismic waves of level 8 or higher. The main component of the extremely low yield point steel is iron. The chemical composition of Baosteel BLY160 low yield point steel is shown in Table 1. It can be seen from Table 1 that the steel has lower carbon content and alloying element content than ordinary low carbon steel, so it has good ductility, low yield and excellent weldability.

In the event of an earthquake, since the energy damper is required to bear the load before other structures and repeatedly deform in the plastic zone, the yield point steel must have a very low yield point and be within a narrow yield range (typically ±20 MPa). It should also have good weldability and good plastic toughness, so that it has good deformation ability. The mechanical properties of BLY160MPa low yield point steel are shown in Table 2.
