The use of aerial ropes

There are several important aspects to consider when setting up and using a hand-held horizontal safety rope:

1. The horizontal safety ropes should be made of 6*37+1 steel cables with plastic sheathing. Their technical specifications must meet the requirements outlined in GB11 "Circular Strand Wire Rope." Additionally, they should come with a production license and an ex-factory certificate to ensure quality and compliance.

2. Both ends of the steel cable must be securely fastened to a strong and reliable structure. The cable should wrap around the frame for at least two full turns. When the rope comes into contact with sharp corners, it should be protected with padding to avoid damage.

3. The fixed end of the wire rope should use a rope clamp (also known as a wire rope clip). The pressure plate of the clamp should be placed on the long end of the rope, and at least three clamps should be used. The spacing between clamps should be no less than six times the diameter of the rope. A safety clamp should be installed approximately 500 mm from the last clamp, and the rope should be guided through a safe corner before being secured to the main rope.

4. The height of the horizontal safety rope should be set between 1.1 to 1.4 meters. A support point should be installed every 2 meters along the rope. After installation, the rope should have a slight sag of 10 to 30 mm to ensure proper tension and stability.

5. The walking horizontal safety rope is only intended for use in special circumstances during high-altitude work. It is strictly prohibited to use the belt suspension point while walking on the rope. Workers should always check if the fixed ends or attachment points are secure, and inspect the steel cable for any signs of damage, corrosion, or breakage.
