How to deal with the problem of card reader during the installation of access control

1. When the access control system is installed, everything works normally. Why is the card reader unable to read the card after using it for a while?

Troubleshoot problems:

If the above steps are eliminated and the card reader still does not read the card, it can be determined as the following causes:

A certain amount of static electricity will be generated when the card reader device is used for a period of time. The accumulation of static electricity over a long period of time will cause excessive power consumption. The shorter the use time, the more problems such as the card reader will age too fast.

Solve the problem:
Before installation, choose a power supply with good quality and power gate ban. If this happens after use, separate the power supply from the electric lock and the card reader, and add another power supply to the card reader to supply power separately.

2. Why does the access control card reader suddenly read slowly and the sensing distance becomes shorter?

cause of issue:
If the card reader is mounted on metal, because the metal has a shielding function, part of the radio waves emitted by the card reader is shielded by the metal. The mutual interference of the radio waves will cause slow card reading, and those that are too close will not read the card.

Solve the problem:
Observe the installation environment of the card reader during installation, such as metal behind the card reader. When installing the card reader, add a plastic plate (special material) behind the card reader

If you want to swipe in and out, the two card readers must be staggered by 30CM. If the conditions do not allow, you need to install a shielding plate on one of the card readers.

3. Why are some glass doors installed with a lock and found that the door cannot be closed when the lock tongue is down?

4. Why can't the card reader and the software communicate with each other?

First, check whether the communication converter is damaged. Second, check whether the circuit is short-circuited. Third, check whether the communication module of the card reading device is not damaged.

The first step is to check if the communication converter is broken. There are two reasons: 1. The quality problem of the communication converter. 2. There is strong static electricity on the communication line.

Solve the problem:
The communication converter is damaged and replaced with a new one. If there is static electricity on the line, the converter should be replaced with an external power supply;

The communication module of the card reading device is damaged. Replace the communication module or the card reading device. If the communication line has static electricity, use a shielded communication line and then ground it.
