**Six Days After Purchasing the Floor, the Production Was Discontinued – Is There Good Faith?**
Recently, Gao Xiaoyan from Hexi bought a batch of flooring for her new home renovation. However, just nine days after making the purchase, the merchant informed her that the production of the selected floor had been discontinued. This led to disputes over returns and compensation, with both sides having different opinions.
**Six Days After Payment, the Merchant Told Her That Production Had Stopped**
Gao Xiaoyan posted a complaint on the "Consumer Rights Protection" section of an online platform. In her post, she explained that on March 15th, she and her father visited a flooring brand store at the well-known Wangdefu Building Materials Center in Changsha. After selecting a particular type of flooring, they made the payment. The salesperson told them that there was no stock available and that they would be notified once the product arrived the following week.
On March 21st, Gao’s father went to the building materials center by taxi to pick up the flooring. The salesperson said the product was currently out of stock and promised to call once it arrived. However, in the following days, Gao did not receive any calls from the merchant.
**The Customer Accused the Merchant of Being Unreliable**
On March 24th, Gao went back to the flooring store at Wangdefu Building Materials Center to check the status of her order. She was told that the manufacturer had already discontinued the model she had chosen, so the product would not be delivered. The store suggested that she could return the item. Gao was very upset, believing the merchant had been misleading her. “If the manufacturer had stopped production, they should have informed the seller at least a month in advance,†she said. “Why did the store still promote this product at Wangdefu?â€
A staff member from the flooring store explained that due to multiple stores promoting the same product, the inventory information wasn’t always complete. However, Gao believed the merchant had failed to fulfill its obligation, and thus should compensate her for the time and transportation costs incurred during the renovation process.
After the intervention of the "Consumer Rights Protection" channel, the issue was eventually resolved.
**Building Business Integrity**
In today's competitive market, integrity is key. Many leading flooring companies have made the right choices. Despite the global economic downturn and a decline in the flooring industry, some brands such as Natural Flooring, Sao Paulo Floor, Icon Floor, and North American Maple Flooring continue to thrive. Their success is built on the principles of integrity, seriousness, and innovation.
At the same time, maintaining business integrity also requires attention to customer service and detailed work. By effectively increasing the value of their products, flooring companies can truly meet consumer expectations. Ensuring excellent after-sales service has become an essential part of the business today.
Consumers are increasingly dissatisfied with poor service, and many have expressed frustration with their experiences when purchasing flooring. To build trust, companies must focus on providing meticulous service and refining the unique characteristics of each store. This is a true reflection of the integrity of flooring businesses.
