Analysis of the cause of loss of the diesel generator In the operation of the diesel generator, the control system should have the following records after the generator is demagnetized due to the excitation circuit, short circuit, open circuit, low excitation current or rotor loop fault:

1. The stator voltmeter indicates a significant drop;

2. The rotor current meter and voltmeter indicate zero or close to zero;

3. The electronic ammeter indicates an increase and shaking;

4. The negative value of the generator active power meter;

5. The indication of the generator active power meter drops and sways.

When the generator loses the excitation current during operation, the magnetic field of the rotor is not seen, and the excitation switch is likely to trip by mistake. In addition, the excitation system of the exciter has a problem, and the rotor circuit is broken, which may cause the magnetic field to disappear. When the demagnetization occurs, the rotor magnetic field will disappear, the electromagnetic torque will be reduced, the excess torque will be presented, and the rotor will be out of synchronization. The rotor and the stator have relative speed. The stator magnetic field cuts the rotor surface at the slip speed, so that the rotor surface induces current. This current and the effect of the rotating magnetic field of the nail create a torque, often called the asynchronous torque. This asynchronous torque is also a resisting torque here. It acts as a braking effect, and the generator rotor does its work in the process of defeating this torque. Turn mechanical energy into electrical energy and continue to send reactive power to the system. The speed of the generator does not rise unrestricted, and the higher the speed, the larger the asynchronous torque. In this way, the synchronous generator is equivalent to becoming an asynchronous generator.
