What is the difference between a single flange and a double flange level transmitter?
Both the single flange level gauge and the double flange level gauge are static pressure gauges. So which occasions can use a single flange, and which occasions can use a double flange? Many customers don't understand this very much. Let's explain it to you today.

The double flange liquid level measures the liquid level of the closed container; the double flange liquid level transmitter is combined with the differential pressure transmitter and the intelligent amplification board to form the intelligent remote transmission pressure and differential pressure transmitter. The HART protocol's handheld communicator can communicate with each other for setup and monitoring.

The single flange liquid level measures the liquid level of the open container. The single flange liquid level transmitter has advanced design principles, complete specifications and easy installation and use.

The liquid level transmitter is a simple and reliable measuring method for measuring the liquid level in the tank. The principle of P=ρgh is used to measure the differential pressure to measure the liquid level. The level of the liquid level is proportional to the differential pressure measured by the liquid level transmitter. The process connection of the liquid level transmitter is usually a diaphragm flange type, and the diaphragm is filled with silicone oil as a pressure transmission medium. The liquid tank usually has an open tank and a pressure tank. The upper part of the open tank is open to the atmosphere. The liquid level transmitter for measuring the liquid level of the open tank only needs the high pressure end to connect the process flange and the low pressure side to communicate with the atmosphere. The pressure tank requires a high-low pressure side of the liquid level transmitter to be connected to the diaphragm flange type to measure the pressure difference between the high and low pressure side.

Usually the end user and the design unit will require the liquid level transmitter package to provide a matching flange to prevent the mismatch between the mating flange and the level transmitter process flange on the tank during field installation. The matching flange specifications can be selected based on the following options:

The flange standard, flange size, flange pressure level and flange form are determined against the selection of different level transmitter manufacturers.
Flange standard: The standard for the leveling flange of the liquid level transmitter usually has three standards: DIN standard, ANSI standard and Japanese standard. The DIN standard and ANSI standard are used in China.
Flange size: Same as the standard of liquid level transmitter. For details, please refer to the sample selection of the liquid level transmitter manufacturer. The level of the flange of the liquid level transmitter is mainly 2''; 3'' and 4'', of which 3'' is the most common.
Flange pressure levels: JIS 10K and JIS 20K for Japanese standards; ANSI 150, ANSI 300, and ANSI 600 for ANSI standards;
The DIN standard is DIN PN10/16; DIN PN25/40. (Note: For 3'' flange PN10 and PN16 are the same size; PN25 and PN40 are the same size)
Flange form: According to the pressure level and customer requirements, for pressure less than 40barg, plate type flat welding is usually selected; for pressure greater than 40barg, neck butt welding type is usually selected;
Flange material: Common flange materials are carbon steel, SUS304 and SUS316. The mating flange of the same material should usually be selected according to the material of the tank.
Flushing ring (optional): The flushing ring can remove the solid medium attached to the liquid level flange without removing the liquid level transmitter to ensure the accuracy of the measurement. According to customer requirements, choose the flushing ring that is the same material as the flange and the level transmitter.
