4. The role of lubrication

Friction occurs when the guide rails on the milling machine and the bottom of the slide, gears and gears, shafts and holes, bearing balls (rollers) and raceways, and other contact surfaces move relative to each other. Friction can cause the parts to wear gradually, and the contact surface is heated or even damaged. In order to reduce the frictional resistance between the relative movements, maintain the accuracy of the lathe and the transmission efficiency, and extend the service life of the lathe, the best way is to lubricate the moving surface.
