Based on comprehensive data from mineral resource exploration, metallogenic geological conditions, and remote sensing analysis, Qingyuan has identified several key minerals, including geothermal resources, gold, iron, diamonds, quartz sandstone, cement limestone, building stone, and dolomite. The plan also includes assessments of the resource potential for gold, diamonds, iron, cement limestone, copper, lead, and zinc. These analyses are expected to provide a solid foundation for the Qingyuan Land and Resources Bureau in making informed decisions regarding the rational allocation of mining rights and optimizing the overall layout of mineral resource utilization.
The "Plan" integrates the current status of mineral resource development with regional geological prospects. It has designated four key areas for mining rights and several restricted zones. A total of 228 exploration and mining rights blocks have been planned, including 724 new exploration licenses and 227 newly established mining rights. According to reports, the Qingyuan Land and Resources Bureau will intensify efforts in exploring key minerals and priority mining areas, aiming to establish new resource reserve bases. Additionally, the bureau will enhance the dynamic management of mining rights and implement expert consultation and supervision systems for specific projects.
In addition to Qingyuan, ten other prefecture-level cities in Guangdong, including Guangzhou, Zhuhai, and Shaoguan, have also had their mining rights plans reviewed by the provincial department. The remaining cities are expected to complete their reviews by the end of March. The province is now on track to finalize all mining rights setting plans, completing this critical task ahead of schedule.
This initiative reflects a broader effort by Guangdong to improve transparency, efficiency, and sustainability in its mineral resource management. By setting clear guidelines and prioritizing strategic development, the province aims to ensure long-term economic growth while protecting natural resources for future generations.
Abstract It has been reported that the Qingyuan City Mining Rights Setting Plan (referred to as the "Program") has received official approval from the Guangdong Provincial Department of Land and Resources. The plan was reviewed, revised, and improved by a panel of experts, marking a significant milestone as it is the first such approved mining rights setting plan for a prefecture-level city in Guangdong Province. The program is now officially being implemented by Qingyuan City, signaling a new phase in resource management and development planning.
