In order to enhance and elevate the 5S management standards at Zhengzhou Sanmao Research Institute, and to lay a strong foundation for future 5S initiatives, Zhengzhou Abrasives Grinding Research Institute Co., Ltd. (commonly known as Sanmao) recently initiated a 5S visual management training program. The primary participants in this training were first-line department heads, 5S administrators, team leaders, and members of the “5S Management Promotion Committee.†This initiative aimed to build a solid understanding of visual management principles and their practical implementation across the organization.
The training approach involved watching video materials from renowned 5S management experts. A total of 86 employees attended the session. The content covered key aspects of 5S visual management, including the concept of visual management, its various categories, red card campaigns, kanban activities, visual recognition systems, considerations for advancement, and the different stages of development. Additionally, the training focused on the best practices for implementing kanban campaigns and managing visual improvements effectively.
Through this training, participants gained a clearer and more accurate understanding of 5S visual management, which laid the groundwork for the company’s broader 5S implementation efforts. It also helped foster a stronger sense of responsibility and awareness among frontline staff, ensuring that visual management would be consistently applied throughout the organization.
In addition to this, to further strengthen the 5S awareness among new employees, the company organized a basic 5S management training session for newly dispatched workers in the second half of 2012 and the first half of 2013. The event took place on October 19, 2013, and involved 35 participants. The training was conducted by showing video-based educational materials on 5S fundamentals. This session served as an essential supplement to the new employees’ “three-level education†and played a crucial role in promoting good 5S habits among frontline workers. The initiative helped reinforce the importance of 5S practices and contributed to a more disciplined and organized work environment.
