On August 22, 2013, the China (Zhengzhou) Automotive and Parts Industry Transfer Docking Event took place in Zhengzhou, with Vice Governor Zhang Weining in attendance. This event marked a significant step forward in the province’s efforts to promote industrial transfer and economic development. In recent years, our province has been actively accelerating the pace of industrial relocation, attracting major domestic and international automotive enterprises such as Dongfeng Motor, Haima Automobile, and Nissan. These companies have been expanding their presence by forming joint ventures and engaging in mergers and acquisitions with local auto manufacturers, contributing to the rapid and stable growth of the automotive sector. According to statistics, by the end of 2012, the province was home to nearly 1,000 large-scale automotive and parts manufacturing enterprises. A number of key industry players have experienced remarkable growth. For example, Zhengzhou Yutong Group has become the world's largest production base for passenger vehicles, while Henan Shaolin Automobile Co., Ltd. is widely recognized as the "CMB King" within the domestic market. Additionally, a group of leading auto parts companies, including six listed firms such as Fengshen Tire, Zhongyuan Inner Distribution, and Far East Transmission, have played a crucial role in supporting the development of the broader vehicle industry. To date, the automotive and parts industry in our province has begun to exhibit a clear trend of cluster agglomeration. An initial industrial development pattern has taken shape, featuring the Zhengzhou million-car base, special-purpose vehicle production centers, and a network of six specialized auto parts bases within one park. This structured approach is expected to further enhance the competitiveness of the region’s automotive industry. Following the initial docking event, a total of 40 projects were signed, with an overall contract value of 34 billion yuan. Of this, 22.9 billion yuan came from outside the province, highlighting the strong interest and investment from external sources. Several investment projects also reached preliminary cooperation agreements, signaling a positive outlook for future collaboration and growth in the automotive sector.
