The 31st China International Furniture Fair kicked off in Guangzhou on March 18th at the Pazhou Canton Fair. This year, the event has seen a noticeable increase in foot traffic compared to last autumn's furniture fair. Many exhibitors noted that due to a less favorable market environment, furniture dealers are more open to discovering new products and are looking to the exhibition as a platform to find better brands to represent.
With an impressive scale of over 60 million square meters, the Guangzhou International Furniture Fair featured 3,375 exhibitors across two phases. The first phase, the Civil Furniture Exhibition, ran from March 18th to 21st. The event showcased high-quality products with a strong emphasis on design and functionality.
The civil furniture exhibition attracted a wide range of participants, including well-known companies from key domestic furniture production bases such as Guangdong, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Sichuan, and Shandong, as well as international groups from Europe, the U.S., Australia, Southeast Asia, and even Turkey. The competition was fierce, with many exhibitors showcasing their latest designs and innovations.
This year’s fair saw many companies focusing on creative and practical product designs. Notable examples included Huahe’s leaf-shaped coffee table, Noah’s wood-grained dining table, Jinker’s imported handmade children's mattress from the U.S., and Ivano’s multifunctional sofa. These innovative products left a lasting impression on visitors.
In addition to the main exhibition, the Guangzhou Furniture Fair was held alongside the fourth Home Design Exhibition, continuing its commitment to the “Chinese Design†concept. It provided a platform for Chinese designers, creative teams, and institutions to showcase their talents and design achievements. As a young design exhibition, it is expected to bring fresh energy and new ideas into the home furnishing industry.
Despite the challenging market conditions, this year’s fair experienced a significant rise in attendance compared to previous events. Visitors were seen in large numbers, with many booths bustling with activity. According to one reporter, the increased traffic reflects a rational trend in the industry, where dealers are more willing to attend exhibitions when the market is not performing well.
While the liveliness of the fair doesn't necessarily indicate an immediate market recovery, it highlights the importance of strong product quality and customer service in a competitive environment. Brands that can deliver value and innovation are more likely to thrive in such conditions.
