The installation of the video matrix is ​​to be performed by a qualified installation technician and should comply with the relevant regulations. It is necessary to avoid malfunction due to improper operation of unrelated personnel. And the installation and maintenance personnel should consider in advance to avoid the occurrence of failure due to falling objects, damage from outsiders, vibration of the building, or other similar reasons.
power supply
Use AC220V, 50-60Hz mains power. Do not physically connect the device to the power supply until ready to operate. Read the installation instructions carefully before supplying power to each unit.
installation
Small-sized matrix (S-type) chassis are generally required to be installed in a standard 19-inch rack with a rack height of 1.8”, or a width of one rack unit and a height of one rack. The gap between the boxes must be greater than 1.75 ".
Medium-sized matrix (M-type) chassis are generally required to be installed in a standard 19-inch rack with a rack height of 3.5′′, or a width of one rack unit and a height of two racks. The gap between the boxes must be greater than 1.75 ".
A large matrix (L-shaped) chassis is generally required to be installed in a standard 19-inch rack with a rack height of 7′′, or a width of one rack unit and a height of four racks. The gap between the boxes must be greater than 1.75 ".
For multi-chassis systems, different chassis numbers should be carefully identified before installation. The video input device should be placed near the top of the rack.
conventional
Confirm the operation of each device as early as possible in the assembly process. After confirming inspections, the removal of several temporary terminals and connections is much easier than the removal and reconnection of a large number of permanent connections.
System connection
All system connections should be made on the rear panel of the matrix host chassis. Typical system connections are described in later sections.
note:
All switching settings must be completed before connection, check the connection is correct before power supply.
For ease of service, mark all input and output cables.
1. Video connection
All video inputs (such as cameras) should be connected to the BNC of the Video Input Module (VIM); all video outputs (such as monitors) should be connected to the BNC of the Video Output Module (VOM).
All video connections should use high quality 75Ω video cables with BNC plugs. All video outputs must be connected to the 75Ω termination load in the last unit in the connection. The middle unit must be set to high impedance. If the load is not connected, the image will be too bright. Conversely, if you double the load, the image will be too dark.
2. Control data line connection
The control data line is output from the communication port on the back panel of the matrix system. It sends the switching and control signals to other chassis. The data line is connected in a ring connection between the input and output chassis. The data line also provides the camera with pan/tilt, lens, auxiliary switch, and preset point control signals.
Matrix system port terminal description:
CODE1: It is mainly used to connect keyboards, alarm hosts, multimedia controllers and other devices;
CODE2: It is mainly used to connect the decoder, intelligent high-speed ball, code distributor, code converter and other equipment;
CODE3: Mainly used to connect to a network matrix host
CODE4: mainly used to connect computers, DVRs and other devices;
3.3 RS-232 control port connection
The matrix system has one RS-232 control port on the rear panel. An RS-232 compatible device can be supplied with an 8-pin flat cable directly to the matrix system (less than 7 feet apart.) If the distance is greater than 7 feet, the RS-232 device is connected to the matrix system using a terminal junction box.
For proper RS-232 communication, it must be clear that the pin defines the DTE (Data Terminal Equipment) or DCE (Data Control Equipment) configuration and the attached RS-232 device description.
Connect the transmit (XMIT) pin of the RS-232 device to the matrix system port receive (Rx).
Connect the RS-232 device receive (RCD) pin to the matrix system port transmit (Tx).
Connect the signal ground (GND) pin of the RS-232 device to the signal ground (G) of the matrix system port.
Use a shielded balanced twisted pair to connect the RS-232 device at a distance of 1,000 feet. At distances greater than 1000 feet, RS-232 connections are required via dedicated lines and synchronous linear amplifiers or telephone lines and short-range MODEMs.
4 alarm input, output connection
The rear panel of the matrix system has 1 DB25 connection port, 16 alarm input points and 2 alarm output ports.

Public land: (17, 18, 19)
Linkage output 1: (relay normally closed contact: 20, relay normally open contact: 21, relay common contact: 22)
Linkage output 2: (relay normally closed contact: 23, relay normally open contact: 24, relay common contact: 25)
